Adventure AwaitS with Glades Runner

The course is run almost entirely on pavement. All distances are approximate.

The race begins for all distances at the Miccosukee Indian Village on US #41, “Tamiami Trail”, in Miami-Dade County, FL. It includes portions of Everglades National Park—“Shark Valley”—and of Big Cypress National Preserve—Loop Road. Runners in all three events will traverse all or part of the Shark Valley paved trail. 50-kilometer runners will also run portions of Loop Road.

5-kilometers:

Begin at the Village, then onto US #41 for a very short distance to bypass the waterway and into Shark Valley. Run down the west side of the Shark Valley to the water stop at the entrance to Otter Cave Hammock Trail, then return to the finish line at the Village.

16.5 miles:

Begin at the Village, then onto US #41 for a very short distance to bypass the waterway and into Shark Valley. Run down the west side to the bottom of the loop at mile 7.5 where the first aid station and toilets are located. Continue north on the east side of the loop, passing aid station #2 at 12 miles. (Portable toilet will be located there, as well.) Leave Shark Valley and return to the finish line at the Village.

50-kilometers

Begin at the Village, then onto US #41 for a very short distance to bypass the waterway and into Shark Valley. Run down the west side to the bottom of the loop at mile 7.5 where the first aid station and toilets are located. Continue north on the east side of the loop, passing aid station #2 at 12 miles. Leave Shark Valley and return to the Village at mile 16.5--aid station #3. (Bathrooms available.) Continue west on old Tamiami Trail to the end, cut through the trees onto US #41 to bypass the S12A flow-way. Run the shoulder a short distance and left onto Loop Road. Aid station #4 at mile 20 is there. Continue along Loop Road for 4.5 miles to the turnaround at mile 24.5--aid station #5, then return to the finish line at the Village.  Portable toilets will be located at both aid stations.
