Racing Bibs:
Racing bibs must be worn on the front of the runner's body with the race number clearly visible at all times during the event.
Nighttime Gear:
For safety after sundown (7:00 PM on Saturday, March 15), all runners still on the course must wear:
Reflective vests that incorporate blinking, colored lights front and rear are acceptable, but both reflective gear and a light source are mandatory for nighttime running.
Earphones:
Noise-canceling ear pods, earphones, and similar devices are strictly prohibited for both runners and pacers. However, devices such as “SHOKZ” (that do not block outside noise) or single ear pods may be used, though their use is discouraged. Prosthetic devices designed to aid the hearing impaired are allowed.
Follow the Course:
Runners must strictly adhere to the designated course and follow directions at all times.
Decorum:
Runners are expected to maintain courtesy, sportsmanship, and respect for others and the environment throughout the race. Littering, polluting, or defacing the landscape is strictly prohibited. This includes using bathrooms or portable toilets for all personal needs—be discreet.
Timing Equipment:
All runners must pass over timing mats or near timing sensors placed along the course. Timing locations are detailed in the course description.
Running Under Your Own Power:
Runners must advance solely under their own power without any form of physical assistance. The use of walking sticks, ski poles, or similar items is not allowed. Artificial cooling systems or vests are also prohibited, though wearing ice in a bandana, buff, or clothing is permitted.
Time Limits & “DNF” Status:
Runners who do not complete the course within these time limits will be marked as “DNF” (Did Not Finish).
Rule Enforcement:
Race marshals may impose time penalties of up to one hour for rule violations, depending on the infraction’s severity. In cases of serious violations, including those involving safety or flagrant disregard for the rules, the Race Director reserves the right to disqualify runners at any point during the race. Marshals and staff will monitor the course for safety and compliance throughout the event.
Medical Support:
Staffed aid stations will be located along the course, and mobile monitors will be available to assist runners as needed. If you encounter a problem, make your way to an aid station or flag down mobile staff. For emergencies or serious issues, call 911 immediately. Your safety is our top priority.
